August & September

For the months of August and September we sailed through some of the fjords on the west and east coast of Greenland, as well as traversing the glaciers on foot. The quietness, the light, including the northern lights and the landscapes were surreal. Greenland is an absolutely beautiful place which is melting fast and which will change the climate of our planet.

During our sail up the fjords on the west coast of Greenland we were seeing consistent signs that the ice was beginning to pack, despite it being early September. We therefore abandoned our intended voyage through the North West Passage and instead sailed from Greenland across the Labrador Sea to Northern Canada and ultimately to Brazil.
